WorldUnderGlass Recent Framing

I recently framed three interesting pictures for Paul Kearey.

The First Picture

This was a fine detailed architectural print, possibly an etching depicting a grand historic building with a green roof and ornate façade. The handwritten text at the bottom reads Celle referring to the town of Celle in Lower Saxony, Germany.  “Residenz” suggests this is Celle Residenz, also known as Celle Castle.

The picture is adorned with a complete set of original Euro coins at the time of the first release and a double mount.  Daler Rowney’s Papyrus was chosen for the top mount and Silver Grey for the bottom mount, and the picture was completed with a gold frame.

The Second Picture

This was the Shambles in York and one of the city’s most iconic and historic streets.  In the heart of York, this street was known for its 14th century timber framed buildings that overhang the narrow-cobbled road.  The picture was mounted with a single mount and a silver frame.

The Third Picture

The scene depicts Venice, specifically the Rialto Bridge over the Grand Canal.  Gondolas and classical architecture line the canal, suggesting a romanticized or traditional view of the city.  The picture was double mounted with the top mount Willow Green and the bottom mount Dawn Grey and a V-Groove used to highlight the picture and finished with a silver frame.
